Update as promised:
Below is the majority of the response from Shell Energy:
"As per updates from relevant department Credit Management have confirmed that they've removed the mark on credit score.
Due to an error your credit score was affected and Credit Management are investigating this chase.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
Considering the above facts and our explanation, and in terms of the complaint, as everything has been resolved we will close the complaint."
Have you ever read anything more ridiculous! They really are having a laugh! I've replied telling them what I think. Idiots!0 -
The OP mentions he is with Octopus.....wonder if all it's customers need to check there credit history.....I did not know there was or is a link to Shel

You and I will have to agree to differ. I couldn't care less about the fictional credit score. I do care about companies who add totally erroneous and potentially harmful data to CRA files, especially without any contact. As in lots of walks of life now, there doesn't seem to be any accountability whatsoever.
They've removed the entry which said I owed them £943. The other zero balance entry from my First Utility account in 2015 is still there. Cretins.0 -

What did the ICO say when you raised a complaint about their behaviour?0 -

If you read my post, they've partially removed the incorrect information, which should never have been there at all.
I've complained to Shell Energy's DPO as a first step. In my opinion they had no reason to be processing my data so I've laid out my thoughts on that and await their response. I may well approach the ICO then.
Thanks very much for your helpful post.0 -
Yes they made a mistake, which they corrected, I still cannot see what you are complaining about now - you said in your post it was removed, now you say it was partially removed, how could it be partially removed?
You then said there was no accountability, hence me asking about the ICO said when you complained about this incorrect use of data? If you haven't complained to the the energy ombudsman and the ICO then of course there will be no accountability0 -
Afternoon all,
I had successfully raised a dispute with both TransUnion and Experian on the 26th July, as well as contacting Shell Energy. Initially it took a couple of back and forth with Shell Energy to have the customer service representative understand what I was challenging, however they soon forwarded my query onto the relevant department.
Following on from my initial contact on the 26th July, the following occurred:
2nd August - Experian confirmed dispute was successful.
4th August - Shell Energy responded confirming credit file was marked in error, with all marks to be removed.
8th August - TransUnion confirmed dispute was successful.0
