With an issue date of 20/11/25 and providing you complete(d) the AoS after 25/11/25 and before 09/12/25 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 23/12/25
Yes, complete the AoS on MCOL and then, using the template defence, compile your defence.
  • Thanks guys, i did submit the AOS earlier on so my deadline day, as you say is 4:00pm 23/12/25. Nice early Christmas present for Smart Parking  :)

I have also edited thread title - is that okay?

Now, I need to scrub up and perfect my defence. I entered the shopping centre car park for 20 mins, ate my pack lunch and left. The signs on the entry road are there but small and not really very clear. At the time, in 2021, I did contact the shopping centre but they ignored my plea. I also no longer have access to the email that contains the SAR data they provided me at the time. How am I best to play this here? I am out of my depth but I am going to spend the next few days gathering as much information to construct a best version of my defence, with you're help, if you can.

Just search for and use any recent Smart parking defence, changing the circumstances to suit your own.

Yes please copy one. You'll have 11 paragraphs which we don't need to check.

Could somebody just confirm I am on the right track for my circumstances with editing my own Para 3.

    Quick overview of my circumstances:

    - it was from 2021
    - i cant really remember much about driving in there and if i did, it was a brief stay (20 minutes)
    - i have since looked at the signage and seems to be fairly inadequate for the size of the shopping centre

I have copied from another defence but here is my para so 3 so far:

    3. Referring to the particulars of claim, the Defendant denies that any contravention occurred on 00/00/2021, as alleged. The Defendant does not accept that they are indebted to the Claimant. The Defendant has no clear recollection of the events due to the significant passage of time and did not receive any correspondence until the Letter Before Claim. The Defendant denies liability and has seen no evidence of a breach of prominent terms. The quantum claimed is hugely exaggerated.

    please help

But Smart Parking cases have more than that. Not just a para 3 added. Read any.

Please don't ask us to check Smart Parking defence wording as we have fallen off a cliff recently due to the hundreds here.

Forty of them are linked on this page alone:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6617396/parking-code-of-practice-consultation-2025-now-lets-see-what-happens/p14

Please don't ask us to check it. We have a Smart Parking defence group thread too, started last week in an effort to stop new threads. No link needed. Please read that & spare us any more Smart Parking defences!

Thanks coupon-mad - I know and I’m sorry for clogging up an already very busy forum.  I have drafted the 11 paragraphs that I have taken from your defence thread on main page (along with adding my own para 3 as above) - I just wanted to check if I was on the right path here with amending the para 3. I am right in thinking that’s all I need to edit from your original thread? Again, I’m sorry for this

You don't need to edit anything if you use the defence wording in the new Smart Parking group thread.

Thank you for you're responses but i have left this to linger as I am worried. I am due to submit my defence by 23rd December. I have read through the defence page numerous times and I am going to submit the drafted template via MCOL tomorrow (19th daytime).

Is there anything else i need to do?
