Ardpark Ltd - Weetwood Hall, Leeds

Hi everyone
In April I received an invoice from Ardpark Ltd, for parking at Weetwood Hall in Leeds.
In April I received an invoice from Ardpark Ltd, for parking at Weetwood Hall in Leeds.
The parking is free for patrons of the venue, however, car reg needs to be inputted into one of the many tablets around the site.
My girlfriend was meeting colleagues at one of the venue’s restaurants for drinks (which she does there quite regularly). She asked a waitress on arrival if parking was free, and the waitress said “yes”. The waitress didn’t mention the procedure of inputting a reg into a tablet.

I responded to Ardpark’s claim in her behalf as she was working. Unfortunately I didn’t read this form first, as I didn’t lodge a complaint with Weetwood Hall themselves straight away.
Ardpark have of course declined my appeal and I am know receiving letters from Ridings Recoveries - I know it is the same company.
I spoke to the venue to complain a couple of weeks ago. They said they would appeal to Ardpark themselves - they apologised for the member of staff not explaining further about the free parking terms, and also stated they had a lot of new staff who may not be aware.
Anyway, having chased the venue, they have today said that their appeal has been rejected on the grounds that too much time has passed.
I did also let them know that one of my girlfriend’s colleagues who was also there at the same time, received a PCN from Ardpark - she however called the venue straight away and the ticket was cancelled.
The venue has said it will escalate the complaint but have said it doesn’t look likely it will be approved.
Is there anything else I should do? Should I be worried?

Have you got everything from the landowner/venue in writing? It is important that there is a document trail concerning this.
The landowner should be instructing the PPC to cancel, not appealing, and not let the tail wag the dog. The venue is the principal and should issue instructions to the unregulated sub contractor they have employed.
Get photos of the site and signage just in case this doesn't get cancelled.
You/the registered keeper should also complain to your/their MP about this unregulated industry.

Reply to the venue and tell them if their out of control parking agents sue. you will add Weetwood Hall as a party or will separately sue them for causing this, which they have admitted was their fault.
The bigger fault and bigger picture is the landowner letting an aggressive parking firm into a customer-facing location and you ask that your complaint is indeed escalated to the managing agents of the entire site, whi have contracted with a notorious parking firm, a step which will continue to drive customers away for good. People don't return after experiences like this; no savvy person swallows up such an unfair charge these days. The landowner needs to get real and get rid of the problem (Ardpatk).
Finish by saying that you expect to hear that this appalling charge has been cancelled or that Weetwood Hall have settled it with Ardpark due to it being their fault.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You say you received an invoice from Ardpark, but you replied on behalf of your g/f.
Exactly who has received the invoice? You or your g/f?
Who is the registered keeper of the vehicle?
You mention a claim. Have you or your g/f received a Court claim?2 -
Hi all, thanks for your replies.
@Fruitcake - I have not got this in writing, it was stated during two separate phone calls to do different employees of Weetwood Hall over the past week. I intend to follow this up with them via email today.
@Coupon-mad - thanks for your comment - I will make sure to add them into the email I will send to WH today.
@KeithP - sorry for not making it clear! I am the registered keeper of the car, but my g/f was driving it at the time. There is no court claim at the moment. I am currently at the stage where Ridings Recoveries (the debt-collection-looking agency, run by the same two directors of Ardpark) are writing to me to advise payment.
Thanks

Could you kindly take photos of the Ridings Recoveries letters and show them here please? With your name/address and VRM covered, of course but not covering the 2022 dates.
With the final Govt public consultation coming this year (we need you to respond too!) I'd like to use Ridings Recoveries fakery as evidence to Government please. This is like now defunct Wonga, who used connected or fake letterheads as an excuse to make it look like a case had 'escalated' and added more money. Tripadvisor has some adverse reviews. Management appear to have a 'nothing to do with us' attitude, even when the staff enter the reg incorrectly.
Used to go there a lot and recommend it to friends for events, weddings etc. I won't be anymore. As its so remote I fail to see why they have a problem with parking by none visitors.2
