BG & EDF from Zog and Neon Reef..What now

Yep - not a lot of options left now, I too was Ex Zog and Neon Reef (briefly) and before that Symbio. Took a decision back in February as I had an EV to move to Octopus Go, and after reading on here move the gas to their v3 tracker in June - so thanks to everyone on here for raising awareness of the tracker and Agile products before they raised the caps.I think another thread on here gives you probably the last opportunity now to lock in anything under the expected October SVT price cap unit rates https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6373929/the-last-good-fix-left-on-the-market-but-for-how-long#latest . Given what I have seen happen with other deals disappearing it may only be matter of days before that goes the same way.

I'm kicking myself for not taking the loyalty tariffs BG and EDF were offering a few weeks ago. Since them, the predicted prices have risen further. So I have actually taken the more expensive gas fix EDF are now offering (Jul24v3). I think it'll do better over the next year, but who knows about the year after. I did get the £150 cashback, which will cover the exit fee if prices drop. As for electricity, I'm staying on the price cap.The annoying thing about the BG+EDF combo is that, while EDF would allow us to move electricity to them on their variable or latest fixed tariff, BG won't allow gas to be moved to them unless you sign up for an expensive fixed deal, much higher than their loyalty ones. Switching to the price cap with BG isn't an option. If nothing else, it's annoying to deal with two different companies each month that request meter readings at different times.0

Indeed. I too was a Zog/Neon Reef customer. I could manage British Gas but EDF were a nightmare to deal with. I have now moved both gas and electricity to Octopus. You need to call them to switch into their SVT, you can't do it online. I have had no problem talking to Octopus when I've needed to and the switch was effortless. Should you wish to do this I can give you my referral so we each get £50 credit to our respective accounts. Clearly posting a referral code is not permitted in this forum so please send me a private message if you are interested. My recommendation stands whether you use my code or not.

I just moved to the SVT tariff. I'm thinking about the tracker tariff but it doesn't seem to be available currently when I log into my account. From recollection you have to ring and request it as it not one that shows in your online account as option to switch to.Although the new caps of 55p for Electricity and 16p for Gas do make this now somewhat unattractive compared with the expected October SVT price cap rates.0 -
I know but I read it as the op concerned that his current tariff was ending & I was just pointing out that other than name nothing would change .pochase said:1 -
I am aware of this and that you know it.
I just got the feeling the OP thinks he is on a special deal when it is only a different name.1
