Is NOW broadband reliable? Currently with BT which has been rock solid and consistently delivers 73 mbs. BT is due for renewal soon, but NOW offer is £20 per month for 12 month, a saving of around £12 per month over BT.

  • i have been using NOW for 5 years now and never had any issues with them.
a bonus is price stays the same throughout the contract, unlike others who do the inflation plus 3.9% thing.
be careful after 12 months though,  it does hike up the price quite a bit,   but,   they usually bring it back down when you call to renegotiate.

Very similar experience to above, been with them for a few years without hassle, price increases but gets negotiated down without rancour

I'm considering having my Broadband with them when I move to my new property.

Virgin Media is being disconnected at the end of this month. After 10+ years with them, I ended up leaving, their customer service for a long-term customer was shocking. Plus the WiFi in the area is awful, randomly disconnects and then reconnects.

Which speed /package are you on? @eastmidsaver @Farway

Now BB is on the same infrastructure as BT so it'll be as reliable as any other ISP using BT Openreach equipment.

As Now BB only supply ADSL or VDSL products (ie, no full fibre FTTP) you need to make sure you're new location will support it. If it's in an FTTP area you may find there's now a stop sell on any other product.

Put the details of the new property in here: https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

One thing you may want to do is change the Now BB router as the wifi is pretty pants. You can get hold of the much better Sky SR203 router from the likes of ebay which is so much better and totally compatible as Now BB is essentially a Sky product.

This is what I get when I enter the postcode.

So it's an ADSL line then?

No, VDSL (FTTC) is available and by the looks of it you'll pretty much get around 78Mbps down on Now BB's Super Fibre product.

It would've been handy to see the whole result, particularly on the right where it will tell you whether there's a waiting list on the VDSL product.

I see there are plenty of Sky SR203 modems going on eBay. Is it simple to set them up and do Now have to provide any data for setup? I’ve heard they won’t provide the usernames and passwords for instance for their services when people want to use an alternative modem router because thy want to insist on use of the preconfigured router they supply.
