Split ticketing ?

I have just booked my tickets with LNER. I am happy with the price
£87.40. Just moving times a little. Leaving Glasgow at 13.25 return journey which is fine.
That is travelling.Harrogate to York / Edinburgh/ Glasgow
And same route on return journey.
This is the route that I always travel.
I looked at some reviews on Trust Pilot and there were problems with some people not receiving tickets or not being able to print ticket off at the station.
In the end I am very happy starting out with the prospect of £360.
It means too I can move my seat if I wish.
The Split ticketing was coming up.with seats in a standard class coach and it would not let me change it
My brother insists that I stay with them. They book 4 weeks Air B&B apartment right in the city centre.
They live in Perth Australia
I have stayed twice there previously. What I have done is reduced the number of nights to 3 where I have stayed 5 or 6 previously.
I am from a large family I have 5 siblings and despite me being 80 I have not lost any of them yet.
We have a reunion when they are home and everyone comes along and spends an afternoon together.
With Covid my brother has not been home for I think 3 or 4 years. So longer than usual for them
Many thanks to everyone for as ever such good advice. I am very happy with the price I paid and tickets printed.

Brie said:Nothing to stop you looking at the split ticketing sites to get ideas of what might be available and then buy the tickets directly from the train company. Same as looking at comparison sites for energy deals or holidays but then going directly to the companies to buy from the providers. That's very unfair on the split ticket websites; why do you do that?If everyone did that, you would lose out on their deals and pay more.It is NOT the same as a comparison site for energy.0

Ticket prices are subject to demand, so it might be that your original tickets are no longer available - particularly if you have made LOTS of requests and they're already 'earmarked' for you!
Searching does not make the price go up.
