....it sounds like its coming from around the bathroom...i live in a bungalow so bathroom at ground level....i have checked outside....
Something winged maybe?
Insect flapping its way out of its birthing casing (chrysalis), or insect trying to flap its way out of a cobweb...
Maybe guess is it's a butterfly or moth caught in something......
It's called wing flap.... farty noises ... (Lol) I've been there questioning myself.0 -
worried123 said:Many thanks for your replies and help - and bendy house for such a comprehensive explanation - thank you. Two penny - the frog....when it happened last year....almost a year ago to the day,,,very strange (warm weather...no winds) i was trying to explain the noise to my sister (our area is rife with foxes - and i said it sounds like a fox with whooping cough has got into my plumbing or under my shower)...it is a sort of springy, graty farty noise is the best explanation and now sounds under my shower - and its literally intermitently all the time now.....fart - five minutes....fart again....sometimes fart fart.....
Talking about the shower, how is it fitted? Is it on a plinth and can you get access to underneath the shower (perhaps some plastic trim you could remove)? Perhaps a good look underneath might shed some light?
In a way its good if the noise is more constant now. What happens when you turn on the shower - does the noise stop or lessen?
Is there a cover of some sort you could place over the shower waste. Does that quieten the noise? It might help to locate the source of the noise.
Does the sealant around the shower look good? Is it possibly wet under there and a small animal (frog, as suggested) is living there and wants to get out?
All very mysterious.

Hello. Did you get to the bottom (no pun intended) of this. Sounds like we have exactly the same issue as you do/did. Any advice would be appreciated.0
