  • Hi everyone i hope you are all well.

I've felt so rough this last week. This weekend especially I havent felt this bad with a cold since I had c*vid. So not alot done but also not alot spent.

I really need to get my etsy shop back open. And get side hustling. I've decided with side hustle and etsy income I'm going to do it like I do our income so anything made in December will be used for January's budget etc.

I've updated tax credits about a recent change. I absolutely hate how the tax credit system works. According to my app they are going to be making an overpayment this week and then our payments will reduce going forward. Which makes no sense at All. So I'm going to split the overpayment up over a couple of months to bring our payment close to what it was previously. I'll try and split the payment until March (which will take me to April's budget) and then we will review our income from there.  A few people have said we would be better off on universal credit. But I'm going to wait until we get a migration letter.

We are paid it 4 weekly so January we will recieve 2 payments. The second payment I'm going to put aside for when we migrate over and don't get a payment from tc or uc for 6 weeks. So I won't have to use our emergancy fund.

Hoping to go and pick the Christmas tree this week. Since moving here we have always had a real tree. I'm hoping I can convince my partner to get a potted one next year so we can use it year after year.

We are going to the cinema next weekend as part of our middle childs birthday. We were going to go this weekend but there's nothing on that the kids would watch and I want to go to the local one to support them rather than a large company in the closest city.

    This week I need to
    List items for sale
    Do some surveys
    Get etsy back open

I also need to phone gp re daughter and request repeat sick note.

I need to find some money tins too. I'll have a look in bargain buys hopefully they have them.

I've got a few videos to record too.

I hope you all have a lovely week i will update throughout the week.

Oh also I've changed our mortgage overpayment preference so instead of resudifn the term it reduces the amount we pay if we make a payment over £500 so the payment I made recently has decreased my monthly payment by £4 a month. I'm going to leave it on this preference until I get to just below £500 per month and then ill change it back to reduce the term instead x

  • Hi everyone I hope you are all well

We all still have colds and chesty coughs. I'm not feeling as bad as I did. But still not right.

    I've reopened etsy.

I need to start writing lists again to keep me motivated because otherwise nothing gets done. This side hustle isn't going to hustle itself.

I haven't set any goals for December anywhere but I'm going to set some on here

Low spend not including Christmas which is budgeted separately.

    Make £500 in side hustle

Great goals. I saw on Face Facebook the other day, a challenge to spent very little on food in January. I miss read it at first, as £15 for the month. On re-reading it's £15 per person per week, and they were suggesting buying extras in December, to compensate. I was considering upping our grocery spend, food and non food, to £120 per month for two of us. Thought I was being profligate!

I'm sure you'll do great with this. Good luck with etsy and the rest, hugs, mumtoomany.xxx

@mumtoomany that sounds like a fab idea.

@MerryHen awww bless you thankyou so much 💖  I've been extremely ambitious with my 2024 goals 🤣🙈  but we will try our best to achieve them

    Nothing really to update on.

  • Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
  • Hi everyone I hope you are all well.

I have managed to make £830 extra in December and the last 2 days of January some of that is etsy the rest is side hustle.

I need to make £240 a week plus an extra £40 to achieve my side hustle and etsy target for this year.

    I've broken the 830 down

    Bonus 40
    Week 1 £240
    Week 2 £240
    Week 3 £240
    Week 4 £70

So I need to make £170 for Week 4 of January and then I can work on side hustle for Feb. Technically I've given myself an extra month as I've included December but depending on where we are at I may finish at the end of November.  I've got nothing of high value to sell so we are going to have to hustle hard. But the way I look at it any extra money is money we wouldn't of had.
I'll be including anything outside of our normal income so interest from the bank, cashback, selling stuff, surveys etc.

What's left over of my weekly money is being saved for a trip next year (2025) as this will be 10 years together for me and the OH so we will use it towards a holiday either here in the UK or abroad a long weekend or a week all depends how much we manage to save. I did look at Disneyland again but its around 6k and we won't have that sort of money for it 😂🙈

At the moment all side hustle money is going into challenges and then will probably go into things like mortgage overpayments etc

I hope you all have an amazing 2024 happy new year to you all x

Hello, @mumof3.12kindebt, how are you all? I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. We were away at my sisters for Christmas, I waved to you on the way past, you were probably preoccupied with the rain. I don't think I've ever seen so much in your part of the country before.

Looks like the side hustle and etsy are working out for you, well done. Together for ten years next year, we will have been together for 50 years on Christmas eve next. Flown past so quickly.

Keep up the good work, hugs to you all, mumtooany.xxx
