They are for virgin Atlantic the airline, not virgin holidays sadly. Virgin Holidays did have social media but look to have abandoned this during covid0

Virgin Atlantic Holidays have social links at the bottom of their website page. Whilst they connect to Virgin Atlantic I would imagine they are okay to post your request for attention.

But if that was before you had contacted their customer services team and raised the matter in the first instance, I can see why.MetalJack21 said:

I think now if you messaged via social media to say what I mentioned earlier you would have them escalate. Now it is the weekend, might be best to wait until Monday.0 -
Just an update.
I'm still no further. Virgin Atlantic confirmed they can't help me over social media. Still waiting for a response from virgin holidays...1 -
Further update on this
I now have a contact at the hotel who I am speaking with. Who informs me that virgin never left payment details for the room
I have also heard from virgin who said I could expect a refund from the hotel last week. The hotel tell me that this isnt the case and they havent heard from virgin
Its an absolute mess and I wont be using virgin holidays again.0 -
How did you pay for your holiday with Virgin? If it was by credit card then now is the time to open a Section 75 claim.

The OP states in his first post he paid by debit card and the bank have said they cannot help.1

Just wasn't sure if that meant the payment to Virgin Holidays, the payment to the US hotel, or both. Worth double checking because S75 now seems the easiest resolution of this if the hotel are on record saying Virgin never paid them.sheramber said:The OP states in his first post he paid by debit card and the bank have said they cannot help.0 -
You can't do a S75 claim on a debit card.bagand96 said:
