Can 118 118 do this legally? They’re attempting to take TWO payments in ONE month

And the OP's choice of delaying the payment until the 7th, would technically result in getting a month off. As they'll get paid twice with no intervening payment to 118118.cymruchris said:
Yes it's a few days earlier - but the money should be there whether it's taken on the 1st, the 29th, or even if they brought it right forward to the 7th. In your case - the change should have no effect on your finances other than being a couple of days earlier - as it's still within your monthly salary cycle.
I think they got caught out up on "but it's in the same month".
