Rang EDF ob Monday regarding paying 2 standing charges
just had a email this morning …I’ve been refunded just under £170 ..
extra credit going into winter is a win win …so thank you all once AgainI think it might be this document from 2016:Prohibition to require the replacement of the existing electricity meter30. Relevant Retail Electricity Suppliers will be prohibited from requiring Relevant
RMI Customers to replace their existing meter (such as to Single-Rate
Metering Infrastructure or Economy 7 Metering Infrastructure) in order to
switch to a Relevant Tariff. Relevant Retail Electricity Suppliers will also be
prohibited from charging any additional costs or financial charge associated
with keeping their existing Restricted Metering Infrastructure.
31. For the avoidance of doubt, a Relevant Retail Energy Supplier will be required
to make the Relevant Tariffs available to the Relevant RMI Customers on their
existing meters, at no additional cost for the customerAs there is no requirement to have your meter changed, you should not be charged additional costs for keeping the existing metering infrastructure. This seems to be regardless of whether you switch to a single rate tarrif or not. Clearly THTC customers would not be able to change to a single rate tarrif without a lot of electrical work being done.....so they should not be penalised by two standing charges.1 -

I think you already said they were on a THTC tariff. Nobody should be getting charged two standing charges, for the avoidance of doubt.

This is excellent news having the double standing charges refunded, well done, seems to have been fairly simple? I too was going to ask if they refunded ALL the double charging as I understand it can go back some years?
n power who are no longer operating were probably taking 2 SC as well but I’ve got no recourse as they don’t exist any more2 -
Apparently eon took over n power
might be worth me dropping a email to them in regard to SC0
