I had emailed SSE to make a claim on his behalf about being charged one daily standing charge instead of two just before SSE had  their billing and CS was taken over by Ovo and my friends dual MPANS were then automatically switched to one daily standing charge .

I'm not sure, sorry. SSE (Scottish and Southern Electric, formerly Scottish Hydro Electric) should know very well about not charging two SCs as it is mainly their meters that caused this problem when customers switched suppliers. SSE will have an obligation to have a complex metering team so I would direct you to them to sort this out and get the refund. SSE call it the "Exotic Tariffs" team. But anyway, your friend should also be asking SSE what they are going to do when they stop supporting this THTC tariff from March 2023 when the radio teleswitching service (RTS) gets turned off, that's a whole new can of worms to open.

I’ve got one merger and 2 mpans as well ..I also pay two SC ..I’m with EDF 

Is this something I need to speak to them about

Yes .
My friends 2 x mpans was stopped about 2 years ago and now pays 1 daily standing charges. He lives in Aberdeenshire.. Please read that link sent by Northern Wanderer about the charity who got t SSE to stop the double daily charges  and repay what they owe .

 I would think this only applies to domestic customers.

Have a read through the whole post of "THTC SSE Monopoly " to get some good pointers .

 One of the best may be that OFGEM directed suppliers to end the double MPAN standing charges in I think it was around 2014 .
There is no difference between you with EDF and those who have received refunds and had their double standing charges  reduced to one with SSE

Rang EDF ob Monday regarding paying 2 standing charges 

just had a email this morning …I’ve been refunded just under £170 ..

extra credit going into winter is a win win …so thank you all once Again

Did they quote any date that the refund went back to Rosie ?  I have not yet found out when OFGEM instructed that 2 x Mpans were reduced to 1 .

This is excellent news having the double standing charges refunded, well done, seems to have been fairly simple? I too was going to ask if they refunded ALL the double charging as I understand it can go back some years?

The OFGEM literature is quite complicated reading, no stars for "Clear English" there.
