You've seen the property 4 times? That's a lot considering you are in the early stages.
The property we are buying we have only seen once and now are going for a final viewing. We are almost near the exchange stage now so need to have another look around the property.
4 times sounds excessive at your stage to be honest.
Our buyers saw the house once during the open house and once more a week later. That was six months ago and we are due to exchange today. No survey and no further viewings. They are not FTB though so perhaps people who have bought before are less worried?

The people closest to us going east bought a Grade 2 listed cottage 3 months ago without a survey and ripped the kitchen and other bits out within days of taking possession.
Personally I wouldn't have done that, but props to them for getting a builder so quickly. We've been here 13 years and can't do that! :D

The OP only said they had done 4 round trips.

It could be a first and second viewing, then going back to see the house/area (but not for a viewing) at other times of day than when they viewed, e.g. late at night and/or at the weekend.

If you don't know an area well then it is good to visit multiple times to get a feel for it.  Whether or not that's what the OP has been doing isn't clear though.

People do seem to have very different approaches. Last time I sold, the people who actually bought had a single viewing and it was only one half of the couple, their other half didn't see it at all before they bought (and they were buying  to live in, they weren't BTL landlords)

We have been three times (one for viewing, one after offer accepted with our parents, and since again to measure up). Mind you we’d probably not have been so often if it wasn’t for the fact it’s taken 5 months since we had the offer accepted…
