How to email SAS

I’m having to put in a claim under EU261 due to the recent SAS strike. I’ve completed the ML claim template but can’t find an email address to send it to. I used contacttoflysas@sasair.com but they said I had to either call or use chat, both of which take literally hours to get through to (I’ve currently been on hold for an hour and am fed up!). Please can anyone let me know how to email them? Thanks

SAS claims should be submitted on an online form https://www.flysas.com/en/customer-service/contact/forms/claim-flights/0

High time MSE updated their article to reflect the fact that all airlines are now more than familiar with the process and have published structured online claim forms accordingly, so there is absolutely no value added by using a template letter that refers to legal precedents, blah, blah, blah - even if such citations can sometimes convey credibility, the recipients will easily spot copypasta....FionaWellings said:I’ve completed the ML claim template but can’t find an email address to send it to. To be fair they do make passing reference to the need to use such forms in lieu of email but only in a fairly vague way, leaving the onus on the claimant to find out for themselves, so they could easily put in a bit of effort and summarise the position by airline instead of this:Here are links to the major airline complaints pages, which will explain whether you need to get in touch by writing, or by using online complaints forms.
If your airline's not listed above, go to its website or call to find out the best way to make a claim.

Do exactly this. Follow the process. Don't over complicate matters by emailing or (if you are) adding back ground and text in a complaint. Just stick to the information required for a claim.Caz3121 said:SAS claims should be submitted on an online form https://www.flysas.com/en/customer-service/contact/forms/claim-flights/0 -
The claims-flights link allows claims for travel, food, hotels and transportation but NOT for claiming EU261 compensation. I appreciate your help but unfortunately ‘sticking to the information required for a claim’ isn’t possible as there is no free format box. I genuinely am finding the entire process most frustrating0

They do say at the top of the page that "If you’re entitled to compensation, we will compensate you in accordance with the EU261 regulation" so it looks like you don't have to work out a figure yourself and claim it as such, you just submit all the rest of the stuff (which identifies the flight number, date, etc) and the compensation should be paid if applicable, although it does seem something of a leap of faith!FionaWellings said:The claims-flights link allows claims for travel, food, hotels and transportation but NOT for claiming EU261 compensation. Ah, I’ve just read that but, as you say, it’s definitely a leap of faith! I’ll report back here in a few weeks exactly what happens! Cross your fingers for me 😆🤞🏻1

Hey Fiona, I have just made my claim on their site from a flight back in 2019.
Let's keep in touch and keep our fingers crossed.
Have you heard anything back yet?0
