Light delayed, landed over 8 hours late, can I claim for taxi expenses on top of the standard comp?

Our Easyjet flight was disrupted and they had to fly another plane from Luton to pick us up. The compensation is fairly clear cut, however I am unclear if we can claim the Taxi fare we had to pay out. The flight was due to land at 6:15pm and we were going to get a train home. The plane landed at around 2:50am and the first train home was 07:00am. Rather than wait all that time for the first train we got a Taxi. Can we claim for that on top of the standard compensation?

usually the contract with the airline is to deliver you from A to B. Once arrived at B any other onward travel is yours. You could either look at submitting a claim with your travel insurance |(depending on policy and excess amount) or decide that the compensation payment covers the additional costs

I agree. Have a go if you like but I would very much doubt the taxi claim will stand.

Depending on the reason for the delay you may be able to claim flight delay compensation. That would hopefully cover the cost of your extra travel from the airport to home.

Flight delayed because of several systems failures on the plane, luckily Easyjet have already admitted that
