Illuminated LED bathroom mirror - brand recommendations?

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to gather supplies for a small refurb on my bathroom. I'm looking to get better task lighting but the over sink mirror will be in a corner with no room for lights either side, and so I thought a lit bathroom mirror would do the job.

I'm looking for 700mm x 500mm without a button on the mirror itself and light either all the way around or just at the sides. I've seen a few that have a motion sensor to turn on/ off and that would need to be either on the bottom or left side, as the right will be too close to the wall I think.

Any suggestions? Does anyone have one that they think is really good?

Thanks all!

I'm a fan of Hib.   You'll find them cheaper on other websites than their own brand site.

Hib seems to be the place... thanks both, there are definitely a couple there that will work.

(and yes, just a mirror -no cabinet needed)

From what I've seen my budget was around £250, so these are a little more... but maybe they are better for it, and I'll browse other sites and see if I can get the price down a little.

Any more suggestions for illuminated mirrors? I'm getting mixed reviews for Hib and wondered if there were other reliable manufacturers...

I'm after 50x70cm - sensor or rocker switch to to turn the LED on, charger and colur temp change are bonuses but not esstential.

    Thank you!

I’m not sure there are good or bad. I have two exactly the same make, same size, one buzzes permanently, one doesn’t….

Not sire why the reviews are mixed.   I've purchased a dozen or more over several years and never had a complaint.  Lived with one in our old house for several years.

Pebble Grey produce some decent looking stuff for less, but in terms of reliability, Hib have the track record for me and are sold by some top retailers like CP Hart.

But a pretty wall mirror with a decent quality overhead light will
also do the job and will probably
    have more character.

We bought ours last year from https://www.illuminated-mirrors.uk.com/ - really good customer service. Has been brilliant, with demister, sensor switch & edge lit.

Something like this https://www.illuminated-mirrors.uk.com/rigel-shaver-edge-mirror-14001.html is only £180, but there are lots of options on the site.
  • I too really wanted one of these and and got one 50x70 with an illuminated strip down either side.  I find when you get your face up to it the light is so glaring it gives me dark blotches on my retina when I close my eyes. I'm not sure the ones with tiny starlights would give very even or useful illumination.  I suggest you try putting your face up close to a few different styles and sizes.

Can you not dim it? We got one from Victoria plum and it has an RF turn on / off function with a wave of hand but holding hand in place gradually reduces brightness

The Hib motion sensor ones mostly don’t dim, they just have one 6400k setting. All the ones with a button on the mirror to change colour temp though.

The ‘illuminated mirrors’ brand do all change colour temperature from 5000k to 3000k, which I assume takes the edge off their brightness.

I’m not sure how many dim though.

It’s interesting, I’ve heard some people say these type of mirrors are too bright, and others say they are too dim. They need to be bright to work for task lighting I assume.
