Options
Hello,

With this doom and Gloom, I would like to know if there are any websites for repossessions?

I'm looking for my first house up to 140K

Cheers,

TB

Repossessions are not necessarily particularly cheap or good value; nor are there that many around despite all the "doom and gloom" stories in the press.

I was trying to be sarcastic, but I think I failed miserably! I appreciate that the request styems from a genuine desire to buy a home at a decent price, but bear in mind that behind each repossession is a tale of misery. That is why I find this type of thread to be in very bad taste.
  • Banks and building societies have a duty to obtain the best price for repossessed properties.

A good starting point is the local press. Often an estate agent will have a small announcement of an offer on a certain property including the address. They will therefore have to entertain a higher offer.

As a last resort (and quite often if there is work required to the property), it will end up at auction, so obtain a few catalogues and attend a few to gain an understanding of they work before you decide to bid.

Hopefully I can suggedst an alternative.

search rightmove for suitable property. find the ones that have interior pictures suggesting an empty BTL.

Research what they paid for it and go from there.

My guess is a person who entered a BTL in te last 18 months and is now keen to sell will accept a reasonablefigure to be able to get out with their originnal stake intact.... you never know

Their everywhere! next door, across the road, round the corner, or they soon will be IF you believe property prices will collapse

Me, I'm investing in 8x4 plywood sheets for boarding up all those repo's, well someone's got to do it, also protect them from squatnow's pals. If the doom and gloom merchants get their way, next year I'll be a multi millionaire.

Maybe doom and gloom to some people but its happiness and sunlit uplands to anyone with a decent grasp of basic economics.

Would it be doom and gloom if I were to say that the cost of petrol would be down 50%? No. au contraire, it would be a good thing.

Only when it comes to property do people think that hell is heaven, up is down, bad is good and low is high.
