M&S Treats

Update on my thread. I went to a different branch of M&S and they refunded the reward/treat amount onto a credit note without me even asking. They were really nice and polite and said they were sorry that it had to be a credit note and I told them I had no problem and that I was delighted to get a refund. Shows it pays not to accept what an inexperienced manager tells you.4

We had a similar problem this week. We ordered two items and the £15 voucher was divided equally between them. One was returned and we lost £7.50. Same argument from shop staff. But the T&Cs don't seem to cover this situation (unlike the H&M ones quoted above) as the voucher has been applied to two items, not one. Might try a complaint0

Tried online chat. Got nowhere they supported the line from the store & referred me to the M&S bank. So I tried online chat with them having noticed that the microscopic print on the back of the voucher says a credit note will be issued if items are refunded - much clearer and indisputable than T&Cs quoted above. They quickly agreed and credited my account with £7.50 and asked which store it was (Eastbourne).OldDIYer said:We had a similar problem this week.
