JaJa Credit Card - Hidden Foreign Exchange Fees

Prior to going abroad recently I used the 'How much does your card charge?' tool on this website and checked JaJa's credit card T&Cs. Both confirmed 0% foreign exchange fees. I have had the card for 2 years with no issues so I thought, perfect, I shall use this to pay for everything. On return I notice I had a whole bunch of fees, amounting to over £37. After phoning JaJa, they told me that because I was automatically transferred to them from the Post Office 2 years ago that I was subject to the old Post Office fees of 2.99%. This came completely out the blue as I was unaware that I was tied to legacy T&Cs from a company I no longer use and not to T&Cs of a company that I do use. The customer service agent seemed very versed on what to say when I stated my issue so I assume it's not the first call on the subject. So, I made a formal complaint with JaJa and am waiting out for a response and hopefully refund of fees. Watch this space.

The message I want to put out is beware of hidden foreign exchange fees on the JaJa credit card if you were transferred from the Post Office credit card.

I have JaJa card that used to be a Post Office one. 0% foreign exchange fees (on purchases) regardless of provider.  Last used abroad in Nov 2021.
