That was exactly my point which is why I said

The NHS website says "you're no longer advised to get tested". Do DWP employees PAY to get tested regularly? Do you think DWP customers PAY to get tested regularly? I'm going to say definitely not for the 2nd question, at least. How is that preventing covid spreading? It's not. Like I said, "crap".
I do because I care about not spreading it to anyone else.  However I recognise that I am fortunate to be able to afford it (~£1-1.20 per test) though, and people who are struggling won't be able to (especially families - more people = more tests).  Nor are they likely to be able to afford FFP2 or FFP3 masks, which are the only really effective ones now that nobody else wears any form of face covering.

@calcotti - My point was to clarify/refute sammyjammy's assertion that DWP employees were not allowed to attend work if they tested positive for Covid.  I'm not going to quote/post the DWP's own staff guidance but it certainly does not state that employees not attend work if they've tested positive.  There is discretion to allow home working but also guidance on how to protect others if attending work with Covid.

(To be clear, I'm talking about the DWP's own staff guidance, not government guidance.)

In which case it would have been clearer if you had quoted sammyjammy rather than quoting me!

Ask the JobCentre. There is no legal requirement to self isolate - it's down to the JobCentre to manage their risk.
Government advice is to try to stay at home for 5 days if you have received a positive test for Covid.
Getting back to the original question, work coaches have clear guidance on the lines to take for someone notifying in advance of their appointment to say they have tested positive for Covid. So, as advised the OP should notify immediately on their journal that they have tested positive and their work coach should advise them accordingly.

Sorry, I quoted you quoting sammyjammy.  That seemed to be the best way to comment on two connected comments at the same time.

I don't, unless I expand them.  They're all expanded in the reply box but collapse when it posts.

I find the best way to quote two comments is to quote them both.
