Doncaster Airport closing

Hello everyone
There has been a post on the Internet that doncaster Airport is closing its holiday flights from the airport. There is only tui left there, we have booked a package holiday to florid next year.
Where do we stand as my wife has booked other things for when we get there and we could be cancelled by tui then forced to rebook at extremely high prices so they are profiting off the closure.
We booked sometime back and got the holiday at the right price, tui said they have information, as always, should they honour a different flight plan at no extra cost.
They should be liable and they do know what is happening as both ceo s have jump ship at Doncaster Airport.
Any idea

With Wizz pulling out and no new carriers coming in the death of the airport for passenger operations was almost certain.

TUI will I expect offer you an alternative flight from another UK departure point.  You don't need to worry about cancelling and rebooking at a higher price. TUI will in due course offer an alternative. If this does not suit then you will be offered a full refund. Please however don't call them now about this. News has only just broken of the closure at the end of October.  TUI will I am sure be in contact in due course.

    Be calm. Be patience.

Good advice from Westin.  It's not TUI's fault that the owners of Doncaster Sheffield have decided they want to close it, they'll have been left as much in the s@*t as people like you who'd booked to fly from there.  I'd echo to wait for TUI to get in touch, or at least until there's some more information, TUI may choose to issue their own press release in due course.

The problem right now is that the closure isn't officially certain.  Peel Group are entering a consultation on the future of DSA.  Most believe the decision has been made and the consultation is just going through the motions and box ticking, but until a closure is actually confirmed there's probably little more that can be done.

TUI may well decide to be proactive and announce their own withdrawal now the writing is on the wall.  The problem right now is that if you contact them the customer service agents won't have any information or be able to do anything.  Hopefully when the time comes TUI will just be able to offer you alternative departure points - I expect Manchester or Birmingham are most likely as the nearest airports where TUI have an existing long haul programme.
