Travel Insurance, now on statins

Sorry if I'm going over old ground, but can anybody recommend a company who can offer travel insurance for multi trips in Europe for up to 45days per trip for a couple, one of which has recently been prescribed statins for raised cholesterol? Not bothered about luggage, lost money, cancellation etc, just medical cover. TIA

Check with whichever insurance company you'd use normally, but I wouldn't have thought it'd make a difference. It's a pretty common medication that's unlikely to cause an emergency medical issue. Not taking them would probably be more likely to!

There are many companies online where you can declare your conditions as you go through buying cover.
Some conditions barely change the price. Sometimes you can choose not to cover a condition, but to still declare it.

Try staysure , they ask screening questions but if it's a prescribed medication and they are no longer awaiting any tests or hospital appointments it's normally covered

We're with the Post Office on a yearly policy.  I was diagnosed with high BP earlier this year and now on Amlodipine.  I phoned to let them know and there was no extra charge.

I'll be interested to know the answer as I've recently started on statins too. Previously I've been taking two medications for high blood pressure and declaring those has had no impact on availability of cover or premiums, but adding a third medication for another condition may change that (not that I'm planning to travel anywhere yet while there is so much chaos in the industry and such a lot of Covid still around).

I use Aviva for travel insurance.  I take statins along with a longish list of other medications and find them reasonable.

I got stung by Staysure a few years ago.  Their policy states that you have to inform them of pretty much any interaction with your GP.  My wife felt a lump in her breast and quickly had a scan which showed there was no problem.  I phoned Staysure who basically said "Thank you very much, we'll update the record.  That will be £20".

I got cover for this for a single trip to Berlin without any problem. Once you declare the high cholesterol/statins, they will ask you whether it is linked to  high blood pressure (not the case for me). I was with Insure & Go.

just purchased a policy from Avanti for £70.26 - annual, max 50 days away, couple, europe. rang to confirm that declared raised cholesterol was acknowledged. was paying £26 last year, but the renewal was over £30, so £70.26 doesn't seem too bad considering i was being quoted ~£120 on line by other providers.
It does seem a con though, as having been diagnosed with raised cholesterol and successfully taking statins to reduce it, the wife is now less a risk than she was last year without a diagnosis.
