can't grow radishes
Options
I've tried growing salad radishes for a number of years and barely get any crop.
Tried in raised beds, they bolted and went to seed.
Tried in the greenhouse, same result.
This year I tried pots. A few radish but mostly gone to seed again.
What am I doing wrong?
In my last garden I grew them without any issues.

Maybe we should form a group? I'm the same, grown for years without problems starting when I was about ten, nearly eighty now, but since I restarted growing them after a thirty-year gap it doesn't matter where or what variety I try they fail, but I know radishes a really easy aren't they, which is why i was growing them when I was ten

Same here. Grew them as a child, no luck at all now2

Ah, I'm beating many of you.
I sowed a row of radish a few weeks back and half of it has come up. Not sure what was different about the other half.
As for whatever I sowed beside it, that's apparently a failure, but don't know what it was as I forgot to write on the label.
Any advance on half a row?3 -

When I was a kid I never came home without a fish. Now, in the places I frequent, where a paintball army skirmish venture failed for being 'too rough,' there's a a good chance I won't even come home! Reluctantly, I've stopped going.

Wonder if the seed is different - or the long spells of excessive heat?
Love radishes but gave up years ago for lack of reward.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Strangely enough I am having the same problem.
I grow all my radishes in modules & plant them out.
5 or 6 seeds per module.
Various varieties.
Some make beautiful radishes & some just never make roots
Fertile soil well watered.
I am experimenting with F1 seed at the moment to see if that makes any difference.
Variety Baccus F1 produced some fantastic roots a week or two back

It dawned on me too that i can't grow salad onions either.
These days the ground is too dry and the heat.
I may look for Japanese onions, a perenial second best, for next year but haven't seen them for decadesI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

You could try Welsh Onions, I did one year from seed, but I neglected them, but I was on the right track and sure if I'd kept at it they were a "doer"

I also think it is the heat and dryness. Every one I've sown this year has bolted. I've had more luck in the past with sowings later in the year of Black Spanish which gets to tennis ball size without going tough.4
