Hi, does anyone have any images of their panelled living rooms they'd mind sharing and how easy is it to do? Thanks

    Google is your friend

Many will link to DIY explanations.

Worth joining Pinterest, despite the appalling name...

Funny how things come back into fashion. Panelling installed in 70s and 80s then ripped out in the 90s.

Google, many examples -  IMHO, certain styles/colours suit certain periods of property.

If you're thinking the batten style panelling, I wouldn't do it. Unless you have a heritage home and are adding back something original-styled, contemporary panelling styles is a trend that is already well on the way out. If you'd done it 5 years ago it'd probably be OK but much like the grey wallpaper, grey crushed velvet sofa look it's the next trend that is fading before you're even putting it up. Plus it's not the easiest thing to remove when it inevitably looks tired (which it will do immediately) and likely would need lots of filling to get the wall back to good condition for whatever the next fad is.

or alternatively, if you like the look of it just do it. Anything you install that is "on trend" will soon no longer be on trend. Chucking some filler on the wall is hardly a hardship

Personally I’m not a follower of trends and I’d rather put whatever I like into my house. Unless you’re looking to do the place up to sell I’d ignore what others like and focus on what you want. It is your house after all.

What do you mean by panelling?
Square as in Tudor, tounge and grove, half way up or all the way, other?
Lots of different ones from different eras.
Currently with fashions changing people use mdf so it's cheaper and easier to change. Pretty good looking now too.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Hello, can strongly recommend real wood panelling. We got ours from audriniliving.com and they were very nice.

That looks like split faced mosaic tiles! I'd never have thought that was wood at a first look.
