I have looked of course, before posting and the only way I could do it as far as I can see is to take my laptop to the checkout.  That's not a good look.  I thanked the person who posted I could copy the numbers of the offers and take it in.
I don't think you all understand what it's increasingly like for people without a mobile phone.

Why don't you have a mobile phone?  It doesn't have to be an all singing all dancing iphone, but something relatively inexpensive.

Or do you prefer to walk around with tin foil on your head.
The assertion being people without mobile phone are ignoramuses. In my experience many people are ignorant of how obsessive they are about smart phones which leads onto phone obsessed employees at companies such as Waitrose designing offers for smart phone users. Alternative routes to the offers will be grudgingly added to accommodate those who you consider lowly tin foil hat wearers.

I don't think people are "obsessive" about smart phones it's just they have so many uses that you can spend a lot of time on them.

If someone spent a couple hours reading a book, 30 minutes taking photos using a camera, an hour browsing the web on a computer, a couple hours watching things on TV etc in one day then nobody would say they were obsessed with any of those activities.
But if do all those things on the same device like a smartphone then people say they are obsessed with it.

You're in denial. Don't worry, there's probably an app to help you.

I always find posts like this funny :D . Your clearly unable to write a logical counter argument to what i said
It was intended to be funny although I suspect you were disappointed as It gave you little to argue against. Don't you recognise how obsessed many people are with their phones? I've got one friend who watched all 5 seasons of Breaking Bad on her phone despite being at home, I visit another friend a lot less as I got bored watching her play with her phone and telling me I should get "Whats app" so she could talk to me through that. She's thrilled when she finds an excuse to buy something from Amazon so she can play with her phone. Motoring laws with strict penalties have had to be introduced because countless motorists refuse to stop playing with their phones while driving.
How often and how many of the examples you gave would be done it they weren't an excuse to play with a phone?
I didn't bother trying with my first reply as I'm not interested enough to argue about smart phone usage. Technologically they're brilliant but I don't want or need my life centered around them.

So you think people don't read books, take photos, browse the web and watch TV normally and only do it because it's an excuse to play with a phone?

So before smart phones were invented you think nobody did any of these activities much at all?

Some people go home each evening and watch TV from when they get home until they go bed, some people sit and read all day but not many poeple would say they are obsessed with watching TV or reading books.

For some reason people seem to have a problem with mobile phones and like to say people are obsessed when they use them alot. In reality they have so many uses that they just naturally get used a lot to carry out all the activities that person wants to do.

No, I can't use a mobile. I've tried.  I'm partially sighted and partially deaf.  I find the amount of information and connections too much too take on.  So I'm not saying anything is illegal.  Please try to understand.  If I'm outside, I have to fiddle with hearing aids and spectacles like so many others my age.  I'm trying to say that the world has changed so much that now I can't handle it in the real world.  I shop locally so that the little shops are kept going, even though I have internet access on my laptop at home.  It means a lot to me to keep a community going.  It just feels like increasing I'm made to feel marginalised for not having a mobile.
So not Waitrose then so it doesn't matter how they offer their vouchers. But it obviously is most economic for them not to need  to print/post vouchers so for the same cost to them they may offer better deals and presumably they are reaching more of the customers that are likely to be better spenders this way

So a mobile phone has made those activities and similar much more convenient to do on the move. If i'm walking through a visually uninteresting area i can be doing admin work such as checking my bank accounts, updating spreadsheets, checking investments and other tasks while i'm walking or having to wait somewhere. That means it saves me from having to do those tasks during other times when i have better things to be doing.

Just because people can multitask by using a mobile phone doesn't mean they are obssessed with it. Yes some people can waste lots of time on them but it's certainly not the case for everyone.

I don't see that requiring a mobile phone to access offers is discriminatory.

Nor do I see the app-based offer down to phone-obsessed employees.

There seem to be quite a few places where the discount scheme requires a phone-app.
I don't have any (and not because I don't have smart phone but because I don't want to share the information).
I think it is a positive selection by the retailer to offer the discounts to those customers that allow the retailer to learn all about you.
Consider that so many apps require location to be switched on.
It is not just every day retail, but car companies, insurers etc.
     - Jaguar offer an app to assess whether an iPACE EV would suit your driving pattern.
     - "drive safe" apps to monitor your driving and offer "discount" on motor insurance
     - sport shoes app to monitor your running performance

Suppose I have an app with "coffee shop 1" and they learn that I buy lunch every Friday at 1 o'clock.
If "coffee shop 1" sees that I am in a different town on a Friday at 12 noon, would it be a timely coincidence if I received a message of the local "coffee shop 1" branches in that alternative town?
Maybe "coffee shop 1" can also see that I pause in the vicinity of "coffee shop 2" on Tuesday and Thursday.  Would it be a coincidence if "coffee shop 1" sent a special "mid-week" offer?

The development of the apps is nothing to do with being phone obsessed businesses but being data obsessed businesses - the companies are essentially saying "we will buy this data all about you for the lowly fee of a small discount."
