Get yourself a granny trolley - Great for lugging heavy stuff home. Although, the lightweight models don't cope too well with 25Kg bags.

So there aren’t other options other than to buy these big bags of sand and cement then?

You can get a 10 kg ready mix in a tub. The tub can be used to mix it in. Amazon do them.
