Malwarebytes Premium, but only if you bank with NatWest/RBS where it's a freebie.

Another proponent for Defender. Prior to W10 it was pretty dire but now it's excellent. It updates and quietly scans in the background and notifies you if it found anything and deals with it.
I've tried Avast and Bit Defender but I'm happy with the windows one. Once a week I'll scan with ADWcleaner, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, all free, just as a precaution. Sometimes they'll find something. A liar on here once said they scanned with these and never found anything while using windows Defender but I believe in Karma...
You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

I use Kaspersky which is coming up for renewal. I  need to protect 4 Window machines.

Decided to scrap Kaspersky partly due to the cost increasing and the Russian perceived connection

Looking at the market I have managed to prepare a short list of the following:-

     - Avast
     - AVG
     - Bitdefender
     - McAfee

What are people's thoughts as to which I should buy.

Perhaps best not to jump on someone else's post (it can all get very confusing) but I am happy to have scrapped both Avast and AVG in favour of the inbuilt Windows Defender and my FIRST action upon buying a new computer is to remove McAfee at ALL costs!

Did you not read the posts above yours which all advocated Windows built in Defender?

Norton is free with BT if you don't want to use Microsoft's own.
