Wizz air problems - advice please

Morning. I have made a claim for costs following cancellations by wizz air. They have ignored the fact that we incurred additional costs through their cancellations and have credited our account with wizz air credits. We didn't ask for this at all. My understanding is that once the credit is in my account I can ask for it to be refunded. However, this is where I need advice, if I do this, I believe that I forgo the right to claim back the more expensive flight costs that we incurred following the wizz air cancellations. Is that correct please?
Thanks for any help.

If you flights were cancelled you are entitled to choose either refund or re-routing , you may also be able to claim some compensation in addition depending on the reason for the cancellation .Can you give some more detail please ?What happened/ when . How much notice were you given . Did you purchase the flights directly with Wizzair ? How did you pay for the flights originally ?0

Flights were booked through wizz air and were cancelled when we were at the airport check in . We booked the next available wizz air flight, it was 2 days later, so had to get a taxi back to the local city and find some accomodation. Wizz air cancelled the flight again, about a few hours before departure. We had to rearrange accomodation for a further night and then managed to get a flight home on an alternative airline. There were no wizz air flights available. We tried to choose the best price options but booking so last minute and with the general fiasco on flight cancellations at that time, everything was very expensive. This alternative flight took us to a different airport so we had to get transport back to Luton to pick up our car. All of this happened at the end of May when there were so many cancellations. All of the costs including original flights were purchased on our credit card and the cost of additional accommodation and flights is £000s and the bill has arrived !

How did you make you claim ? Did you use their claim form ? When was this submitted?0 -
Yes I used their claim form and did it within 10 days of returning home. They have also emailed me giving me an option of wizz air credits or refund with no reference to all of the other costs. I emailed them straight back said we didn't want credits but believed we are entitled to claim our flights costs that we incurred following flight cancellations. I followed up that email within 10 days and received no response to either. Today I received an email saying they are giving me wizz air credits!
To be honest I expect they are overwhelmed by the volume of claims and are not reading incoming emails. No doubt they are going for the best option for them which is wizzair credits and are trying to wear people down.
I just need to ensure that I do the right thing to claim back the money that is fairly due to us.0
