How can Google Pay present multiple cards?

Since I got my chase account 29/03/22 and it added my details to Google pay Ive never had this issue.
I make 30-50 payments a month.

I've used it twice since, at other places, without rebooting the phone, with no issues. So I'm really at a loss as to why it happened. And then, who wants to stand at the front of a queue waiting for their phone to reboot?

Software glitches happen.

Never, only issue I’ve had was I chose a particular card, clicked on it and it still paid with the default card.
I have 9 cards saved in Google pay.
