Netflix via BT

Signed up to a new deal with BT that includes Netflix, handover has been seamless, except that I transferred on the same day as my normal Netflix payment. 
So I have paid via my BT account and via Netflix.   I contacted them about a refund, all they gave was a credit on my account that I cannot use for 24 months (BT contract length). 
I tried to escalate via the chat, all all I got was "I'm afraid that's how netflix works as the payment was made before you had your BT plan on your account so basically the payment we have is still with your paypal account"
