  • Brilliant, thanks so much @soulsaver, can now put some funds into it knowing I’ve got that interest rate for the next few months.

Market Harborough 195 day at 5.45% looks appealing. I can't download the T&C's though (clicking the PDF does nothing!). Anyone know what notice period they give on a rate reduction?
    Thanks

  • @Rheumatoid, I managed to open the terms and conditions on my iPad and found them for you. Hope they help 😊

    • 11.3.2.If a change to interest rates is to your advantage, the change may be made immediately and will be publicised on our website and/or in our branches within 30 days of the change.
    • 11.3.3. Where the change is not to your advantage, we will notify you of the change by letter, email or other personal notice before it comes into effect. This does not apply if the change is not material.
    1. If no notice period applies for withdrawals on your account, we will notify you at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
    2. If your account has a notice period for withdrawals, we will either:

    i. Notify you at least seven days plus your normal withdrawal notice period before the change takes effect and your withdrawal terms will remain unchanged; or
ii. Notify you at least 14 days before the change takes effect and you will have a period of 60 days to close or withdraw from your account without giving any notice that might normally apply.

11.3.4. If you do not notify us that you object to a change before the date on which it comes into effect, you will be deemed to have accepted it.

Thanks Rosie. Don't like 2.ii. Might give it a miss.

I was about to recommend the same miss. Looking at interest rates for their other notice accounts, they're really quite poor so I reckon they'd choose option ii over option i, whihc means you have a load of hassle for not much gain.
  • I agree, definitely sticking with the Oxbury 120 day notice @5.53% as at least you get 14 days and the notice period.

Am I right in thinking you can access that by opening an instant saver? Seem to remember reading it somewhere but can't find it now.

    Found it:

"If you're not an existing customer but are interested in that notice account, you can become one by opening their easy access account @ 4.94% (minimum balance £1000)." Thanks @ref@refluxer

Can anyone confirm 5.53 is available still? Thanks

  • @Rheumatoid, yes you’re right, open the easy access account (`I’ve only got £1 left in mine) and then you can open the notice account.

Yes, there were few posts on here confirming this.  I didn't need to do it because I already had a fixed bond with Oxbury, but looking at the EA rates declining across the board Oxbury's Easy Access (4.94%) looks like a good spare account to have.

Thanks both. Can anyone confirm 5.53 is still available to existing customers. Thanks
