I am defending this on behalf of my son and willing to go all the way with it
Can you tell us how you are proposing to undertake that role please?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    It doesn't really matter.
The information returned will be far more useful at Witness Statement time anyway.

Send a thirty day hold instruction telling the solicitor that whilst you deny the debt you are seeking debt advice so they must put the case on hold for thirty days as per pre-action protocol.

Then send an SAR to the PPC whilst you read the guide to court written by bargepole in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES and the template defence sticky Announcement.
You will need to include non-photo proof of ID with the SAR.

Also get photos of the site and signage in readiness.

Did you miss my question from 1 December last year. It is rather important.
Apologies,  what I mean is I'll be doing his defence with the help of this forum

But what role will  he be undertaking?  The claim is against him, not you.

  • Quick question,  if this goes to a court hearing will I have to pay the hearing costs if I lose?

Yes but usually less than the inflated amount on the claim form as claimants add "debt admin costs".

If you're doing someone else's defence, why are you asking if you'll pay the hearing costs if you lose?

Something doesn't appear to be stacking up here. Have I missed something?
