Unless the government changes legislation civil service pensions should rise by the September 2022 CPI figure.

Don't know about PIP legislation but the September 2021 CPI figure looks to have been used this year so may well be the same next year.

The government will no doubt fudge the true figures by September making them less

I think the Civil Service pension uprate is almost certain to happen as planned. The government surely have enough strikes going on without reopening that issue.

Given the "government" don't determine the inflation figure that won't happen.

It's the Office for National Statistics role to calculate inflation.

But the government could of course choose to change the legislation.

Maybe they have bigger fish to fry though just now.

It is not like with the State Pension where the wage inflation figure was not a true reflection of the situation so they had a bit of wiggle room although they could have handled it better and used the ONS figure that was a true reflection.  I doubt they could carry off a legislation change that major without mass walkouts, after all it affects future pensioners as well.

A bit worrying that someone in receipt of a civil service pension doesn't trust the civil service to do its job.  Or doesn't realise that the civil service is not the Government

    I meant for PIP
