ha that's great to know thank you

That's how it looks. Service was good, and you can spec it up online. They wouldn't move on price but we negotiated the extra keys instead which is handy as think they're expensive to get cut

we love the thumb turn lock, we do have a concealed police approved keybsafe tucked away out of view though as everyone said you'd lock yourself out all the time but never had to use it!

    The door is composite
I have just had my door replaced with a solid wood one. The quote for a composite was around £2000 plus VAT but your door is wider than mine. I am in East London.

As per previous comments, it's probably not outlandish for a decent quality door.  Who did you get the quote from?  If it's from one of the big names like Everest or whatever (yes, I know they're primarily known for double-glazing, but they do doors as well) then I can pretty much guarantee it'll be overpriced.  Your best bet is to find a local independent company who's recommended by friends and neighbours (or a local Facebook page if you have one) - they have far more to lose by ripping you off than the big boys do.
I found my supplier (Woodworks in London) via Walthamstow Recommends on FB. Lots of positive feedback.
