Front Door Supplier and quote

Hello,

I live in North London an I have just been quoted £3500 inc vat to change my existing door to this new door. Quote includes fitting.
Is that a normal price for that kind of work in North London? Any door supplier people would recommend?
Thanks

That doesn't seem outlandish, but it depends on the work being done. About 5 years ago we paid closer to 5k for a new door, but that had slde lights on either side and involved removing some old Upvc doors.

Do remember not all composites are created equal, some (look at you tube) are hollow core and have like paper in them and people can hammer through them! Stuff like Rockdoor are way tougher, but, obviously more expensive.

As per previous comments, it's probably not outlandish for a decent quality door.  Who did you get the quote from?  If it's from one of the big names like Everest or whatever (yes, I know they're primarily known for double-glazing, but they do doors as well) then I can pretty much guarantee it'll be overpriced.  Your best bet is to find a local independent company who's recommended by friends and neighbours (or a local Facebook page if you have one) - they have far more to lose by ripping you off than the big boys do.
