As an update we have now received the General Form of Judgement or Order (due 6 Dec) - so it is going to to the next stage.
General Form of Judgement or Order could be issued for any reason.
    What does yours say?

    Thanks KeithP
    It is ORDERED that
    1. DDJ has considered papers and allocated to small claims track
    2. Parties shall send or deliver to court and each other by 6 Dec
a - written statement of the evidence
b - copies of any documents which they propose to rely
    Witness statements - with blurb
3 - A party affected by this order may apply to to have it set aside, varies or stayed

(oh - i didn't see point 3 - do you reckon this is the court allowing the claimant to backdown?)

No, point 3 just means that if you disagree with the order - that is to carry out the directions in 2 - then you can ask for it - i.e. this order - to be 'undone' in one way or another.
You don't want to do that.

You have until 4pm on 6th December to file with the Court and serve on the Claimant your Witness Statement and evidence.

All that applies equally to the Claimant too.

The witness statement (WS) is NOT a copy of the defence: -
A WS is "in support of my defence as already filed" and is a narrative of what happened on the day and subsequently.  It is written in the First Person ("I") in your own words.  It is also the opportunity to provide evidence in support of arguments you have used in your defence and in your WS.
You cannot introduce new arguments in your WS that were not in the defence.  Yes, add the schedule of costs.  Most recent example of WS for style and format is that written by @aphex007

Thanks everyone for the updates/info and advice.

Received an email from DCBLegal - Notice of discontinuance. Is there a way to check the authenticity of this?

If it is genuine - I take it this would mean case closed?
That's a win. Well done. You could check with the court if you want.

Not an unusual end to a DCBLegal claim.
    This thread -
DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS
    shows how common that is.

Thank you ALL so much for the support, info, advice and reassurance to stay the course...

I defo learned a lot during this process.

And hopefully this thread helps someone in the future.

ANOTHER VCS ONE BITES THE DUST!

    Well done for winning!

    And...

    ...please don't leave us yet!

We need you - as a genuine PPC victim of aggression, sharp practice and an 'extortion' attempt to add £70 - to respond robustly to the Public Consultation on the level of parking charges and banning of the false added DRA 'fee' that too many honest motorists currently fall victim to.

It will need consumer input (powerful voices) but change is afoot. It's taken about 5 years to get to this stage:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6333036/breaking-news-government-has-announced-the-statutory-code-of-practice-and-enforcement-framework/p1

And then the industry threw victims' money at it and blocked and delayed it - explained here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/79310609/#Comment_79310609

Please now Bookmark BOTH threads and set up email alerts on your posting profile, so that you get an email alert when we post there, as we will, once the Public Consultation opens, maybe January now, I guess.

We need people like you and your driving family & friends to respond in high numbers! You have a personal story to tell about the culture of getting a DRA to add an extortionate £60 or £70 for their own profit, to be let loose to intimidate people.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Good news ....  you are now in the famous DCBL discontinuation thread

The thread is very valuable when it comes to the government consultation regarding the new code of practice. It is proof beyond question that those who play around in the parking scam, are not fit for purpose and waste the time of the county court system
