Cheese and onion bread

Options
Has anyone got a trusted recipe for cheese and onion bread - or just onion bread, using real onions, not powdered, and made in a breadmaker?

I have the Panasonic SD252 if that helps and the nearest recipe in their book is for a cheese brioche.

many thanks

:)

Can't find it, there's too much stuff here.

    Aaaarrrgghhhhh.

Is there one? I didn't just make it up did I?

I really don't want to start clogging the board up with my little questions so I'm happy for them to be deleted as soon as I get an answer. I worry that they wont be seen if I just post them on the bread thread for example. :)

I mentioned making this in my breadmaker a few days ago so if anyone else has a Morphy Richards machine I will repeat it here.

    For a 2lb loaf

water 1 and a quarter cups
skimmed milk powder 2 and a half tbsp
    sugar 2 tbsp
    salt 1teasp
    onion granules 2tbsp
grated cheddar 1 and a half cups
    bread flour white 4 cups
yeast 1 and three quarter teasp
    Use setting 1 basic

The italian herb bread is lovely too:j

Your questions would be just as easily seen on an older thread as on a newer one.

You can always make sure you don't miss any posts in threads that you are interested in, in one of two ways.

In the box for a thread in the forum listing, on threads where you haven't read all the new posts there's a little blue box with a down arrow in it - and if you sit your mouse over it - it says "Go to first new post" - click on it and it'll drop you onto the first post that you haven't read yet.

Alternatively you can click on the thread title which will let you join the thread at the start... then on the left hand side of the brown-ish thread title bar it says "View first unread"...

    :)

You know, I'm sure I saw a cheese and onion bread recipe posted by Queenie somewhen, and I'm blowed if I can find it now. I'll go look some more...

It was onion and rosemary that I was thinking of:-

and there are some follow up posts on it further down the thread. It should be easy enough to adapt if nobody can come up with a specific recipe for you. Sorry I can't do any better.

Not a breadmaker recipe, but you could have this on the table in about an hour. You can use mozarella or cheddar chunks in place of goat's cheese and vary the herbs, too.
