At that time of day it is just as likely that it was Signed For at the Delivery Office before being taken to the DVLA. My point about signing is that it would be in a massive pile of Signed For items - say 100 items but only needing the one signature. From my own point of view, Signed For is not worth the bother if you want to reasonably guarantee something as it is not treated differently to any other item as it travels through the system.Jaybee_16 said:
To confirm your bit regarding a signature, a few months ago I sent my licence renewal by recorded delivery. It was signed for around 6.30am the following day, so it would likely have been the overnight security who signed.fb1969 said:I am a postie. Recorded Delivery (Signed For) travels through the post system alongside normal letters, other than requiring a signature on delivery it is not treated with any priority. DVLA receive thousands of letters every day and it is possible that it may not even get a signature, or with be signed in a batch with many others. Special Delivery is dearer but should guarantee the letter gets there the next day.0 -
Yep the only advantage with signed for is if the item being sent is worth £20-50.fb1969 said:
