Roadworks the street over meant it took us half an hour to do the 4 minute drive home from school. I can walk it in 15 minutes!!! this is how slow traffic was going.
Dot laid on the floor in reception so was again dragged through the doors.. she is not fun in a morning. They were on time but she was playing up so we take her through reception so we can hand her off personally through a locked door and she cannot run back out. There is logic there.Twinkle had to be woken up this morning, she was absolutely crashed.. I hate waking them up it feels incredibly mean.. if Dot sleeps we leave her until she wakes up and take the others to school and take her later usually.Squeak accidentally took Twinkles rain coat to school so we hope it is dry when she is coming home because she will look a bit silly in an age 7 raincoat! Fortunately we had a spare for Twinkle.
I have a couple of payments to make.. I am really concerned by the lack of money from Meem but it is what it is and how UC can only give her £4 for the whole month when she has no other income is beyond me.
It looked like it might rain but it has brightened up again.. i still need to drag the washing in but it is less urgent in the moment. I have more to go out too.. and more to do..
I need to sort the plan for Saturday today.. and plan another week of how I am going to manage with a second week of no food purchases because every penny and more is gone before it comes in.

Afternoon all not much done this week. I've felt so rough with this cold and chest infection and I think I have an ear infection now. I've been resting when I'm not working while kids are at school. And just trying to drink plenty. I've been In alot of pain the last 2 nights with my legs so haven't been sleeping well and now I'm well and truly exhausted. Hopefully by the weekend I'll be feeling better so I can really crack on next week. I didn't even do a proper food shop earlier in the week 😩June 17 £16,000 debt ~ nov 18 DEBT FREE •June 21 £16,308 debt / july 22 debt free •Original mortgage free date 01/06/2059 current mortgage free date 01/05/20467

an hour of my life wasted on the phone to CMS
News from Downing Street feels like a very worrying move.
Trying to find letters for the weekends the girls have rehearsals and parties and swimming and dance and shows and everything else I am supposed to fit in..
I've done nothing productive.. and I really need to move..

Started the day with a run and by the time I got back, 57mins later, Boris had resigned!
Spent a lot of the morning glued to the TV but managed a bit of flying:
- 1 load through WM and hung out
- yesterday's cooking pans etc washed up
- vacuumed hall and lounge/diner
- swept kitchen floor
- vague bit of tidying
- picked some raspberries
This afternoon I went down to the river for a lovely swim and dropped into Mr T on the way home. Got some nice reduced flowers as I'm church monitor this weekend, plus we are going to lunch with step-bro and SIL on Monday so I can do an arrangement for them (which has to survive the overground to Tottenham Hale, underground to Brixton then a bus to Streatham).
Now I'm going to do a bit of drum practice then water the greenhouse and pick some mange tout peas for dinner.
Hope op goes well Mr Ionafan.
Hope sicklings feel better soon.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Morning all.
DH got his new hip yesterday and I visited him in the evening. Not unexpectedly, he was in a certain amount of pain and discomfort, but otherwise doing well. The anaesthetist insisted that because of his previous medical history he should go from theatre to critical care, so he is getting lots of attention, but there was talk of moving him onto the normal ward today, where of course the physioterror!sts will get their hands on him, hee-hee!
I managed to complete a very short flying list yesterday - made my bed and stripped DH's - and will continue alternating desk work, gentle flying, and hanging out washing today. I have 2 meetings arranged for this afternoon and will visit DH this evening (it's always easiest to get a parking space around 6 pm, once the clinics have finished).
While DH is occupied elsewhere, Rosie and I have arranged to go for lunch with DS2 and family on Sunday. They are moving house 2 weeks today, and I don't think DH will be fit to do a 2-hour journey for a month or so, nor will I be able to leave him alone for long enough to visit them for a while, but I need a cuddle with DGS3+4. Once DH is properly mobile and I have finished my next round of horse piddle tests, we hope to take a short break in their area, but that might not be for a while.
Hope everyone has a good day and stays cool xx

*Healing vibes* for Mr Ionafan. So glad to hear he has finally finally finally had his op. I hope his recovery goes smoothly and he doesn't need too much in the way of gentle ministrations from you Ionafan once he arrives home. You have more than enough on your plate already.Fab piece, Valli, and an excellent photo. I hope your new job stays comparatively stress-free after all those years at your old one.Life certainly sounds eventful at Piggers Towers.Well done on the intentional weightloss and walking Kaz.I'm so sorry I've not been posting, but I have been majorly flying and sorting out gibble-stuffed areas, decluttering, cleaning, shifting, organising, donating and generally clearing decks. It's been a few weeks of getting stuck right in, so I've been alternating between full steam ahead and dead stop. It's worked - I have clear shelves and cupboards, space in the attic where there was choas before, I've cleared out the yard, repotted the stuff that needed bigger pots, cleared out the dross from three areas in front of the houses opposite, salvaged the rhubarb which I thought had died which upset me, harvested the blackcurrants and made a dessert out of them - I love blackcurrants and you can't buy them easily - and finally packed for my 10 days solo camping holiday at a literary festival, leaving today. Belovéd has been tasked with feeding the baby seagull that fell off the roof and is mending its broken leg by itself while I'm away, I'm about to do a masterclass in Layla's care which is now complicated because she's not a healthy dog but she is happy but Belovéd manages to sail through life without noticing what I'm doing so now he needs to know.I might also have time to finalise my tax return and post it when I drop a bag of stuff at the CS. I don't think I'm going to know what to do with myself when I come back because I really have been clearing the decks.////////////Better is good enough.8

Enjoy your break, Honey_Bear - you certainly deserve it after all that flying! I'm sure Layla will miss you but your Belovéd will cope admirably with all the feeding and poo-picking

Meeting at school had re Squeak.. hey are completing the plan for us in the next couple of weeks once they have had a few teacher assessments and get a better idea of where Squeak is at academically. We will have termly meeting to try to support her in motly social and emotional areas but maybe a bit of academic help needs to be in place too.
I have found my headphones so I can call the bank.. I can't hear on the phone without them.
My new engagement ring has arrived.. the stone is much bigger than the last one so it feels a bit weird but it is pretty.. and as it is neither gold nor diamond it was much cheaper and looks almost identical.. apart from the size.. but I still love it. That is my wedding anniversary
Just paused to speak to Boog which led to when his next hospital appointment is.. neither of us new so I logged in to check and it is today at 4:30... that was cutting it fine!!!
1 parcel ready to fling in the post box.
I need to check who used their £2.50 spend cap and hope it was not Meem (I know it was Meem!!)
Pee... tea... bank...

Oh my days, it’s the weekend, finally. It’s been quite a week at work, twice I was in danger of losing the plot and had to walk away to make the tea round in order to regroup my sanity, so many extra hours worked just to stand still. But it’s Friday, DH has “sorted” dinner (read: bought something which I will now have to cook, as I am not lighting the oven to do it as per the instructions which is what he will do if left to his own devices), I have a glass of chilled wine, and the prospect of DH going to the pub for a couple of hours to leave me in control of the remote.
Flying…errrrr….wm just loaded so it is ready for the morning.Speedy recovery vibes for Mr Iona. And take it easy, but enjoy your DGS cuddles, Iona.
Enjoy your break, HB.7
