Ryanair strike in Spain

Hi,

I booked a flight to Alicante on the 19th of July, I've just read Ryanair are going to be on strike on that day and the 20th and 21st. What shall I do?

Tried their online chat but guess, what, just a bot and then the bot said they are busy, go to the website, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Wait for Ryanair to contact you with more information.

Your flight will be ok until you're notified otherwise.

Most UK-Spain flights are operated with a British-based aircraft and crew, so this shouldn't be an issue to you.

  • Thanks, I'm on a FB group which is where I first came across the news of the extended strikes, I have since seen a number of posts from other people who actually travelled during strike days with no issues.
  • I also booked a flight to Spain before strike dates were announced, which falls on one of the days. Ryanair say they'll notify you by email or SMS if affected but I've heard nothing. I eventually got through to someone on the phone but she didn't know about any strikes. I was told that I might get notified a couple days before-which leaves me an a no doubt expensive last minute scramble to find a replacement, and that if I need to be refunded it can take up to 14 working days.

It is Spanish based cabin crew operating from 10 Spanish bases that are striking.  Disruption will depend on whether you are flying on a service due to operate by their Spanish crew/aircraft.

The majority of Ryanair's UK-Spain flights are with British-based aircraft and crew.

If you post your flight numbers (not just the route, some routes have a mixture) and the days (I don't need dates, just days in general) you are flying, I am happy to tell you which base your flight will be operated by from third party sources I have access to.

Alternatively, if you look at flights in the opposite direction on the dates you fly on Ryanair's website, you will be able to tell quite easily as there will be a 25-30 minute turnaround on the times.
