KIWI.com input incorrect passport year of expiry?

Just made a booking (Ryanair flights) through KIWI.com. I put in my passport details and accidentally typed in the year of expiry as 2024 not 2023. I went to change it, but they want to charge me over £25.00?
This will be my first and last time using this lot. Always used the airlines direct in the past as I never trusted these types!
My question is, if I go to the airport with the year showing incorrect, will they change it or correct it for me?
Thanks in advance

I put in my passport details
When - during booking with Kiwi, or as part of API when checking in with Ryanair..?

    Evolution, not revolution

I suspect when you do online checkin with RyanAir you will have the ability to change it.

Do you have the RyanAir booking reference and access to your booking?

The booking is all through KIWI.com.
Yes with RyanAir, Jet2, Easyjet, etc, you have up until you check in to change your details. This is the same with KIWI.com although they are charging 25 quid to do so.

It was either them or the other similar type of Operators. I was unable to book direct with Ryan air with the flight being via Dublin (2 Ryan air flights).

My query is I have put in the wrong year 2024 instead of 2023 for my passport details and it will not allow me to change them unless I pay the 25 quid. Would I be able to fly turning up at the airport or not? Would they be able to correct it at the desk? Thanks

You could have booked directly with Ryanair, just booked the two flights separately. That's all Kiwi.com have done.

As @Westin said, do you not have access to your Ryanair booking on their website? You will need to check in online with Ryanair anyway and the passport can be ammended at that point.

I wouldn't leave anything to the desk at the airport, Ryanair charge £50 for airport check in!
  • As I understand it Kiwi keep control of Ryanair bookings and check a person in then send the boarding passes.
There was a story in the media recently where Ryanair were refusing these because they had Kiwi branding added to them in some way and Ryanair wanted the exact unaltered boarding pass.
If you don’t have access to do check in yourself Ryanair will probably charge you more at the check in desk to change it.
I think you would be better to bite the bullet and just pay the £25. It was your own mistake after all and as terrible as Kiwi are you can’t expect them to do work for you for free.

    I see.

If the OP doesn't have access to their Ryanair booking at all then the only other thing I can suggest is trying Ryanair online chat and seeing if they can help. https://help.ryanair.com/hc/en-gb The only problem is that they might want to verify details like booking reference/email which if Kiwi haven't given you'll be back to square one.

Failing that I can only suggest stumping up the £25, taking it on the chin and not using said agent in future!

    Indeed.
You just need to Google 'ryanair refuses kiwi boarding passes' to find the story.

I did so. Ryanair make an interesting point that if an agent has checked in on behalf of a passenger then they have answered security questions on behalf of the passenger.

I know the security questions are effectively box ticking exercises, but aviation regulations do state passengers must be asked certain questions.

Kiwi obviously still selling Ryanair flights, I wonder if they now just forward on the original Ryanair boarding pass document unedited?
