Just had my 6 monthly bill from BG.
I'm £15 in credit after that and have voluntarily increased my DD to £75 (was £68 then £54 thanks to usage reduction then voluntarily increased to £65 the last month then £75 for this month. all due to them thinking I would owe them £400 in January which is not true.) They now want £144 for my DD to "balance out" over the next 6 months. Err, what?
I did take on their energy fix in June, but even under those rates and my worst month (using 160kwh in March) my calculations are it would be ~£68. I guess it'll be more time wasted on the phone or in Live Chat tomorrow to get them to see sense. I suppose it'll probably end with me demanding to be put on a variable DD as their systems are clearly not fit for purpose.
More fool them I guess as they won't get to sit on my money for the next 6 months.0 -

They are clearly not including the Govt. bung in their algorithms and God knows what date they are using for "contract end " - not the end of the fix obviously.0 -
brewerdave I don't think any supplier is factoring in the £400 government grant. I asked my supplier, Octopus, why they think my monthly DD should be £66 when I'm £260 in credit and the £400 payment from the government was due in October, even if they pay it over 6 months at £66.66 per month, they said that they don't use credit and the grant when they work out the payments otherwise I could pay Octopus £1 per month for the next 4 months and then increase it to around £66 per month after that.Someone please tell me what money is0

No supplier is going to take into account the energy credit of £400 until it starts to be paid out.1
