Cancelled flights due to breakup – any advice?

Hi all,
I recently bought a flights as part of a holday in August for my girlfriend of three years's birthday totalling around £750. Two weeks later she left me.
For obvious reasons, I really don't want to go on this holiday. People keep saying "why not just take a mate", but it's just too much of a heartbreak to consider and, to be honest, I'd much rather just have the money back. Jet2 don't do refunds on flights and my insurance company won't help as it would be my decision to cancel.
I bought them on a Sainsbury's credit card and I've heard in passing that they might be able to do a chargeback, but I'm not sure they'd help in this circumstance.
Does anyone know of any other way I might recoup my losses? I've posted on sparefare.net in the hopes that someone might pick it up, but that's a longshot.
Thanks, in advance, for any advice.

A chargeback wouldn't be valid, as there is no breach.
Essentially, you're subject to their cancellation terms if you no longer want to go.1 -
If it’s a non- refundable flight- then you are not entitled to any money for cancelling . As there has been no breach of the contact you are also not entitled to claim anything from your credit card .You may be able to change the flights to a later date when maybe you might be some enjoyment from the holiday with a mate. This however will incur additional charges .0

Have you contacted Jet2, explained the situation, and asked if you can defer travel? The worst they can say is 'No'.

a refund would be possible if the airline cancels the flights. (they do not operate one or both of them) Maybe hang off doing anything till nearer the time.0

Hi, sorry this happened to you.
Jet2 say you can cancel or you can change the booking. Obviously you lose money either way but you may be able to salvage something.
BUT - if you hang around waiting to see if they are going to cancel your flights, as suggested by Caz3121 above, you may end up with zero.
Here's some info - https://www.jet2holidays.com/cancellations
- with appropriate phone number. It might be worth trying to chat to someone to see if they can help. If not you can manage your booking online.

No, not yet. My first hope is to get the money back, but looks like that's going to be a no go.Unfortunately that's almost certainly not going to happen. As above, only a cancellation by Jet2 would produce a good result for you.No disrespect, however your reasons for cancellation don't stand up in the world of commercial airlines - disinclination to travel is no reason for a refund.

Is a name change possible ( unlikely) so you could sell it as a package to another couple
