Aiming To Finally Be Debt Free by 2025

Options
Hi everyone.

After a long hiatus, I’m ready to come back with a new diary and new challenge.

For anyone that doesn’t know me, I’ve been on the forums for years on and off. I’ve got Cystic Fibrosis and am on oxygen 24/7.

I’ve been in debt for as long as I can remember, but I’ve got a plan to pay it off once and for all so we can move house in 2025. I won’t list all my debts right now, but rest assured, my other half and I have loads to pay off between us.

I work part-time, but also run a reselling business as my full-time job, which will be the bulk of our repaying power (OH also works full-time).

So, one debt at a time. My current debt is a loan I took out to get a new oxygen concentrator. I’ve paid over half back already and now owe £1,530. I’m on track to pay it back by the end of August (been paying £170 a week), but will try to pay it off sooner.

It’s nice to be back and I’ll try to make sure I post regularly!!!

So good to see you Emz.
Sad you had to buy your own oxygen concentrator but know that's how it is.
    Keep posting xx

Thanks for replying everyone, I will try to not disappear again!!

Just spent all morning at the hospital (annual review/check-up). Everything okay, but I've been prodded and poked a lot and am knackered now. Problem is I'm at work tonight 4-7  :s - when I have more time, I'll catch up on what's been going on and post a bit more.

    Hi everyone

Work again this evening, but I'm now off until next Thursday  :)

Thought I would make a plan of action for July and have some goals:
    1. List 10 new items on eBay a day (make a list of 10 items to list the day before)
    2. Renew and lower price of 10 old listings on eBay a day
    3. List 5 items on Vinted a day (can be items already on eBay that are slow sellers)
    4. Get Oxygen loan down to £500 (currently £1,530)
    5. Start trying to get some surveys done again to earn Amazon vouchers towards packaging supplies to cut costs. Aim for at least £50 in July.
I'll see how I get on with those. I'm currently trying to tidy my stock room (spare room) as we've got an inspection 2 weeks today, and it's a bit of a mess. I'm aiming to get that all sorted by next Thursday and then it gives me a week to clean the rest of the flat.

Can you get any packaging from work at all?  My colleagues save me boxes and packaging from work deliveries.  Some of them will also bring in bubble wrap and paper from home deliveries for me as well.  It saves loads on packaging (and helps the planet!).

    Hi jwil 😊

I do bring stuff home from work sometimes and I know places to get free boxes, so never spend out on those. I pick up free newspapers if I can for packaging, it’s mainly bubble wrap, tape, mailing bags and printer supplies that I buy on Amazon. I always try to reuse what I can, but I do package quite a few parcels, so like a nice big roll of bubble wrap. xx

    Morning

So got all my listings done yesterday and 2 of the things I listed have sold already. Having a problem with some parcels I sent. Basically everything I dropped off at the inpost lockers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday aren't tracking, even though I've had feedback from someone saying their item was delivered, and the tracking says it's still in the locker. Really annoyed. I think I'm going to get a lot of people complaining soon. Hopefully they are all getting delivered, but I have no way of checking. Only just started using the inpost lockers, but will be going back to the parcel shop now.

Up early as usual (just can't seem to sleep past 5am at the moment!!), so will try and get some surveys done.

Evening. Really need to get some sleep as we’re getting up early to go to a car boot.

All listings done today and a few sales too.

I’m going to set myself a challenge that a few other resellers are taking on at the moment. It’s a bit ambitious, but you never know, I might just do it!!

It’s turning £1 into £10,000. How amazing would that be? I’m going to start by getting something for £1 from the car boot. I am already registered as self employed and pay tax.

I’ll keep you all updated with my progress. £10k would really help with my debts!!  Let’s see how quickly I can get there!!!

    Night xx
