Cancel EE due to persistent signal issues?

Hi, for several months there have been significant signal issues in the area.

I signed up to the sms notifications where they tell you there's an issue and when it's been resolved, so have evidence of almost permanent signal issues near my home for the last few months.

I'm 6 months into a 2 year, can I cancel due to breach?

If so what's the best way to go about it?

Thanks

If its been resolved then your probably past the point where you could have cancelled.

Did you keep a log of all your complaints about the signal issue?  What evidence have you got?

    Hi, thanks for replying.

    no it’s not resolved.

I’m signed up to their SMS service where they’re actually notifying me of their awareness of the problem.

Essentially the problem has been consistently happening for over a month, and intermittently for about 3 months.  The SMS updates regularly saying ‘there’s a problem near your home’, then the next day says ‘the problem is resolved’ then a day or two later ‘there’s a problem near your home’ ad infinitum.

I don’t keep calling because it’s clear they know - because they are sending messages about it.

However the reason I get the messages in the first place was because I reported the fault.

I can call and complain again though to ensure my dissatisfaction is on record.

    Thanks

Are you actually impacted each time? By that I mean a lot of these outage notifications can be generic based on postcode rather than your nearest tower. And presumably at home you are using wifi calling if no signal / poor signal?

I'd just try calling them and saying you want to leave due to very poor signal (confirmed by x number of notifications over x period) and see how they respond. If your contract includes a phone then you are going to have return it or pay an amount to keep it which may make it a less attractive option.

Hi, yes I’m definitely impacted, I’m pretty sure it’s been the same issue the whole time.  It’s not just at home, it’s all around the local area too, and effects the ability to use data as well as make calls.

I guess with the phone, I’d need a phone anyway with a new provider so I could just go Sim only and pay to keep my phone (or return it for a better deal with the new provider).

I presume your phone isn't compatible with WiFi calling (which would solve a lot of your problems). What phone do you have?

Could be worth checking your settings to see if it can be enabled.
