Hopefully in right place? Wizzair changed flight by 24hours but not extra hotel night?

Bare with me, info is a bit sketchy.

Niece and 2 friends (all 18) have gone on holiday to Zante, booked through OnTheBeach.
Flew out from Luton on Friday 24th June, due to fly back Friday 1st July.

They were then told that Wizzair don't fly back on Fridays in July, so flight has been moved to Saturday 2nd June then told by the hotel if they want to stay extra night, they have to pay an extra £300 for 1 night at the hotel.

First off are they due compensation for the 24 hour "delay" & secondly are they entitled to receive the extra hotel night free?

This has been booked by one of the girls, so may not be getting all the info, apparently she was emailed a couple of weeks ago about the flight change, but didn't read/say anything at the time....

Thanks alot any specific questions, ask away & I'll see if I can get the relevant info.

If it was a package holiday and the ATOL Certificate should show if it was, then On The Beach are responsible for the additional costs. It sounds as though the flight change may have taken place more than 14 days prior to departure in which case no compensation is due from the airline

Looks like the airline won't be on the hook as they've informed you of the change well in advance.

For sure the hotel aren't responsible for the airline's change so they won't be able to help.

Think the only hope is that On The Beach are responsible if it was booked as a package - then again the time to raise that would have been when the flight changed and not several weeks later when you are already on holiday!

So I think the first step is to understand if it was booked as a package holiday or whether it was just separate flight and hotel bookings.
