Is this a record increase

Absolutely, people would be falling over each to grab a rate like that until next May, those who do moan about 200-300% increase although a shock do at least have time to adjust, put more money to one side or even learn to reduce their usage. It's only what the majority are paying now. Very difficult to predict but Cornwall insight do not see any significant falls until at least 2024.By which point there will be very few if any still on a decent priced fix.MWT said:
... my father-in-law is on 3p for gas and 14p for electricity fixed until May next year, I'm sure he isn't the only one with a large increase in their future, but as a pensioner he is very pleased to be looking at another winter on those rates...savers_united said:Could be looking at Gas jumping from circa 2.5-3p upto 11p+, on the SVT so probably a bit more on a new fix.
Leccy the same, it's going to jump from circa 13-15p up to maybe 40p on SVT and again likely more on a new fix, plus you will be looking at least double on the SC compared.0 -

Present units = 1750
Projected units = 6000
Difference = 4250 units
4250/1750 = 242(ish) % increase
If you doubt it, just multiply 1750 by 242%#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660 -
