Thanks - I truly never looked in the glovebox other than when collecting the car to check it actually opened (and closed)...noitsnotme said:
You must have a USB stick fitted otherwise Sentry and the dashcam wouldn’t work. As above, it should be in the glovebox on the left hand side. Older cars had them in the centre console I believe.Grumpy_chap said:
Thanks, I will have to find where the dashcam icon is.noitsnotme said:If you want to view footage in the car you have to save it at the time of the incident by either pressing the dashcam icon on the screen or pressing the horn (if you have it set to save via a horn press). I believe it then saves the previous 10 minutes that can be viewed on the car screen. Note - it's better to leave it a minute or so after the incident to ensure you get everything. I've heard people pressing too soon have found it can cut the actual incident short.
To view anything you have not saved as above you need to take the USB stick out and view it on a computer. It only saves a rolling 1 hour so if you've driven for an hour since the incident then you've most likely lost it.
I don't think I even fitted a USB stick to my car. I guess I need to get one and find the slot.

So, yesterday was an annoying charge stop. It said I would arrive with -1% battery. Went to the obvious SC location and it had a fault affecting all the units - no power, but there was power at the services building (probably a separate sub-station). The detour was then 12 miles

At least you had enough charge left to make the detour.Reed0

At -1% I would have been tempted to just drive at 50 in the expectation of making it.Grumpy_chap said:So, yesterday was an annoying charge stop. It said I would arrive with -1% battery. With a leaf 24 I often make trips where I modify my driving style to avoid the time and cost of charging en route - and get home with --- showing for both battery percentage and miles left. Never seen turtle mode yet though.I think....1 -
I think my heart would have been beating out my chest the whole way, Jesus wept. I damn near stopped breathing before I arrived home with < 3% battery after a long journey.Grumpy_chap said:So, yesterday was an annoying charge stop. It said I would arrive with -1% battery. EON Next has been 6.9p off peak for quite some time now (since April I believe?). It also provides off peak rates for an hour longer. I'm silently optimistic they'll reduce it further since the recent price cap change. As you say though, other suppliers have cheap EV rates, they all seem mostly competitive. I'm finding the cost to charge my EV about 10-20% of what it cost to fuel my ICE car mile by mile.MeteredOut said:Intelligent Octopus Go down to 7p off peak from 1st July. Driving an EV is getting even cheaper than driving an equivalent legacy car for those that can charge at home. Other suppliers have cheap EV tariffs too.

I was very tempted, but the weather was not great and I really didn't want to end up a couple of miles from home if the heavens really opened.michaels said:

I have read that there is a "hidden reserve" but not sure whether it is ever wise to test that rumour.0 -
I gather, on some models, if you switch off for 10 minutes it will release a bit more capacity which should get you to a charger (unless you live in the middle of nowhere, like me).
Alarmingly, the GOM on my car stops GOMing when you get somewhere below 20 miles range, so you're left only with the SOH and doing some furious mental maths. Last close call I got back with 2%, having skipped the chargers 6 miles from home. The incentive was negative priced leccy at home, some which I'd have missed if I went to the public chargers.1
