haven't travelled abroad for a while

haven't been abroad for a few years now but going out to Spain to see my brother in a few weeks 

I have to take vitimans as I don't make them myself through food ,  how can that work as they are not prescribed.

is it still clear liquids for hand luggage, everything else in suitcase,  what about make up?

lastly money,  I bank with TSB ,   I was going to withdraw cash abroad or pay with card, is it better to get a travel credit card?

Put the vitamins in your hold luggage, put as much liquid items in your hold luggage too, toothpaste, moisturiser, foundation are regarded as liquid.  You need a one litre plastic bag and put the liquids you have in hand luggage in it.  No one item should be over 100 ml.  I have a Nation wide credit card and it does not charge for foreign transactions.  Spain still has some rules on face coverings on transport and going into chemists but these can change so better to read up before you go.

I would take most of your toiletries in luggage and just take small items for the trip (enough to last say 48 hours if you are delayed). Gels, lip balms etc. Can still be regarded as liquids. 
Vitamins, again I’d put most in the suitcase unless they are absolutely essential.
take some extra in case you get delayed.

i think you’re allowed 1 of those plastic bags so you can get quite a few items in there especially if some are sample sized.

I would ask your brother to buy shampoo, conditioner, sun cream, deodorant and any other body lotion you need and reimburse him.

But to be honest, if your brother lives there, you shouldn't need hold luggage if he has a washing machine.   Pack light.  Do you really need make up?  If yes, put it in a clear bag for checking.

thank you all,  the other thing is my mum has chronic gastro issues and is prescribed large bottles of medicines over 100ml.   if these are labeled is that OK in hand luggage as I believe they are glass bottles

Okay.   You forgot to mention this in your first post. 

I would seriously doubt they could go in hand luggage but check with your brother whether your Mum's medicine is available in the country and if there is any way of getting it from his local pharmacy.  Otherwise, you need to speak to your airline.

No, they will not be allowed if over 100 ml.  Can you decant them into 100 ml bottles?  Glass or plastic, makes no difference.  Can she not get her medication in tablet form for the holiday?  The airline does not control the security checks at the airport.

If she needs it on the flight she  can take enough of the liquid she needs  but the rest must go on the hold.  She will need a  her prescription and also a doctor's letter of possible.

For hand luggage, all liquids must be in 100 ml bottles and fit in a clear plastic bag no bigger than 1 litre size. The bag must be closed.

thanks,  the pharmacist can probably split it for her, so she can carry just one small bottle.   do doctors just give a list of prescribed medicines for travel?

Essential medicines are OK in hand luggage over 100ml at least in UK airports.
