Oh and OP, buy a speedboat and trailer and park the set on the land.If that were the case then I would ask why hasn't the developer jumped at the offer of cash to sell it to the OP.Developers do sometimes forget about little bits of land, but if they have been asked to sell and said 'no' it suggests it would be unwise for the OP to invest much effort or money into the land until they have title to it.0 -
The other side of the land is a council owned verge, then a small country lane. The land can’t be used for anything. The developers basically suggested it’s not worth their time to sell it and I’m not going to offer them 5x market value.0

I don’t think they would use this for anything. If I were to fence/hedge it off, what could they actually do? If they forced me to take it down, and I put it up again the next day, etc etc…

MrLogical said:I don’t think they would use this for anything.Based on what you've described (the abscence of a plan makes some of this thread guesswork) they are using it for something right now.They are using it to stop you accessing the almost-adjacent highway from your land, other than on their terms.People use land without there necessarily being something observable going on. This is very likely an example of that.

Thank you all. Some excellent thoughts and advice here. I’m going to do my garden soon and may use the surplus soil to create a hill that sections it off. I’ll also plant all sorts across it to close it off. Finally I’ll install a gate on my fence to make it accessible to myself only. That should do the trick.1
